In this, the 4th Lesson from Module 5 of the CWC+ Design Course, JC impresses upon us the importance of “wireframing”.
In just 4 minutes, this becomes apparent without it needing to be said.
‘Wireframing’ is effectively a basic layout of the screens the user will see in the app, without the detail and code behind them, enabling different options to be visualised and/or brainstormed / discussed with others before the coding journey needs to even begin.
It’s a powerful feature which, to someone like me who tends to “leap in and the deep end”, is something I’d probably not have prioritised.
I see how it would be useful if working in a team but wouldn’t immediately see it as important when working solo. JC’s examples in the video, however, make this pretty obvious.
If different designs / layouts are staring you in the face, it’s much easier to decide which one is the right one to go with before getting bogged down with any coding.
