My current focus is coding, so I guess you could say that I ‘run code’ …
I also run a lot, and I run almost exclusively on concrete. You could say that I’m a ‘road runner’.
‘Road Runner + Running Code’ = “code:Runner()”
Yeah, I’m not very imaginative.
the Coder
My coding history goes back to the early 80s. The time of Sinclair and endless pages of hexadecimal in computer magazines. When ‘music’ came out of the TV speakers like a screech that not even the worst cat in distress could create.
Truly the dark ages of computing. But some things never change…
the Runner
Running came to me quite late in life. Too much ‘coding’ created the physical wreck you’d typically associate with someone spending far too much time in doors hunched over a computer desk, never to breathe fresh air or feel sunlight on his skin.
Today I run half-marathons for fun, and hope to add to my full marathon tally.
the Writer
I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember. When I look back on those early days, I think of them fondly. Until, that is, I read what I wrote, and then I don’t know whether to laugh or feel ashamed. They’ll never see the light of day.
Today I write whenever I have the time and, when I read them, I don’t laugh. I quite enjoy them. Maybe you will, too.
