Today’s lesson, lesson 8 from module 2, builds on yesterday’s insight into MVVM. The challenge requires bringing several things together that we’ve learned up until now.
It’s only when you face a challenge like this that you realise how little has actually “sunk in” to the ol’ brain box. But that’s the point of learning. To refer back to past notes, past lessons, refresh your memory, and incorporate that which you do understand even if you don’t quite know how to express your requirements.
And, if you don’t understand it, this is the ideal time to revisit those things that have been covered and to work out how they apply to what we’re doing today. Every challenge is another step on the path to understanding.
If there’s something I will always remember is that you may not always immediately know how to do something, but so long as you know it can be done, you’ll figure it out. That’s pretty much what learning is all about here. It’s not about memorising every step verbatim. It’s about getting a general understanding of what to look up and research when you need to incorporate a routine into your code.
The ladder may sometimes be harder to climb, but it’s a sturdy old beast and you will climb it.
Oh, and the ‘topping’? Today’s challenge was to change the topping on the pizzas of yesterday’s challenge.
